Our Montessori Curriculum

Our Montessori curriculum is built with the child student in mind, from the time they walk into the classroom they are greeted with a wide range of classroom activities that spark intellectual curiosity, and a desire to learn throughout the day.  Our program is designed for children between the ages of 2 ½ to 6, with half day programs available in the morning and afternoon, full-day programs that run through the work day and before and after school care that is available as well.

We are accredited by the CCMA (Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators), which assures your child has access to the materials, activities and classroom culture that was first developed by Maria Montessori.  We are much more than just a traditional daycare, our program is an excellent way for your child to gain confidence and independence as they begin a lifetime of learning.  Our staff is here to encourage a child to explore further the subjects and topics that they have shown an interest in, and then share what they have learned with other classmates.

The prepared environment in our classroom provides a child with a calm and nurturing approach through five areas of the Montessori curriculum:

Practical Life: Are teachings that replicate real world experiences such as being graceful and courteous, washing dishes, cleaning up after activities, gardening, and dressing and undressing.

Sensorial: Are activities that awaken a child's five senses of smell, taste, hearing, sight and touch, such as the building of the iconic Montessori Pink Tower and actively documenting the changing of the four seasons.

Language: We help a child with new vocabulary, enunciation, and articulation of ideas.  We also teach sentence structure, correct spelling of words, punctuation, and hand writing skills.

Mathematics: Activities that help a child understand sequence, order, counting, addition and subtraction and hierarchy.

Geography and Culture: Introduction to subjects that serve a purpose in our physical world such as the different bodies of land and water, and experiencing different cultures from around the world.
